Why Sellers Crop Their Shipping Labels

When Amazon, Flipkart or Meesho gives you a shipping label PDF, each order usually takes up a full A4 page even though the actual label is only a fraction of it. Print labels as they are and you burn four sheets of paper for four orders — and you still need to trim the white borders before sticking them on a parcel.

A seller dispatching 50 orders a day therefore uses roughly 50 A4 sheets and spends 30-45 minutes cutting around labels. Cropping the labels first and laying them out four-to-a-page brings that down to about 13 sheets and a straight-edge cut along printed guides — the same 50 labels on a quarter of the paper, in a fraction of the time.

A4 vs 4×6 thermal printer paper

Choose where you print before you crop. On standard A4 office paper, four labels per sheet is the sweet spot — scannable, easy to cut, and compatible with any inkjet or laser printer. If you run a 100×150 mm (4×6) direct-thermal printer, select one label per page instead, download and print the file at actual size; the cropped output is sized for thermal rolls and skips template fiddling entirely.
